Senior System Administrator

R Systems is looking for a talented and passionate Senior System Administrator to join our growing team focused on software development for the telecom industry.

As a Senior System Administrator at R Systems, you will deal with the administration of IT systems and network – monitoring, configuration, corrections, and changes. Some of the biggest telecom players out there are waiting for you to wow them!

Your contribution

  • Support and assist internal teams and related projects
  • Advanced support: end-to-end troubleshooting issues
  • Escalate to external 3rd party suppliers when needed
  • Maintain and automate the infrastructure within the current configuration, assuring availability, error checking and corrections
  • Maintain and support Kubernetes clusters
  • Servers advanced administration (installation, configuration, maintenance): hardware, OS, system and network services, backup
  • Virtual infrastructure management and support
  • Implement, maintain, and support IT Security requirements (policies and procedures, dedicated tools)
  • Monitoring and detecting infrastructure configuration errors and problems, report and propose configuration fixes and improvement solutions
  • IT infrastructure automation support and implementation
  • Availability for maintenances and urgent fixes if needed outside working hours
Bring along
  • At least 3+ years’ experience on similar position
  • Advanced English level
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills – identifying where problems are occurring and netting down the nature of the problem; reporting statuses and progress; following procedures in matters of time and expenses
  • Creating/improving documentation for troubleshooting
  • Systems thinking – capability to correlate all essential causes and effects by getting the full picture, understanding the contingencies and pushing the right levers
  • Technical skills to operate and maintain OpenStack
  • Good knowledge of Kubernetes
  • Good knowledge of Linux (CentOS/RedHat, Ubuntu, Suse)
  • Good knowledge of Chef
  • Good scripting skills (Bash, Python, etc)
  • Icinga2 or other monitoring tool
  • Experience with ELK, Logstash, Grafana, Jenkins, Gitlab
  • Team player attitude, communication and cooperation within the team and line manager
  • Learning Orientation – capability to develop the needed skills and knowledge in order to accomplish challenging objectives
