Software Support Engineer

The Software Support Engineer will be responsible for delivering high quality technical support and customer satisfaction to Panasonic customers.

Duties & Responsibilities

By understanding the software and its functions, the ideal candidate will:

  • Help identify and solve customer problems and provide general/advanced assistance
  • Facilitate resolution of complex technical problems in all areas of assigned products by collecting the necessary documentation or recreating in house, keeping the customer updated on the status of reported problems and ensuring CRM system is updated with current information on cases
  • SQL Server – Install, upgrade, backup/restore, configuration etc.
  • Understand database schema – tables, queries, triggers
  • Write simple queries in database


Customer’s technical staff and end users, peers (Project Manager), subordinates (developers, senior developers, team leaders and experts), superiors (IT Director, BU Directors)


  • Travel availability up to 50% of their time in Europe
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a proven track record of managing complex technical issues
  • Knowledge of RedHat Linux, Windows platform, Network layouts
  • Operating Systems – Installation / Partition and basic administration of Windows and Linux
  • Sharing and security, Domain/Workgroup/Policies, Webserver
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing with both technical and non-technical staff
  • Manufacturing environment, preferably in SMT environment. Manufacturing Execution System experience is a plus
  • Good communication oral and written and customer convincing power
  • Knowledge of MS Windows desktop and server environments, networking protocols, security and firewalls
  • Proficiency in CRM systems such as SugarCRM, SAP, Siebel or Clientele
  • Bachelors or master’s degree in computer science/electronics
