Senior Ruby Software Engineer

R Systems is looking for a talented and passionate Senior Ruby Software Engineer to join our growing team focused on software development for the telecom industry.

As a Senior Ruby Developer, you will take on the responsibility of crafting reliable, compelling code that helps develop existing frameworks and modules. Your focus will also be directed toward improving user experience, delivering products that meet industry standards, and helping clients attain a better performance/cost rate.

Your contribution:

Further develop the core framework and several custom business modules. Extend the platform with new functionality and contribute to the product roadmap.
Structure the backend data and framework that provides the workflow to process requests and helper functions for the modules to use (e.g. logging, database access, and LDAP lookups).
Work on improving the user experience and delivering a quality product
Discover new ways to automate the telecom operator data management and extend the product accordingly.
Further help the client tuning and optimizing distributed applications for performance/cost

Bring along:

Required experience: 8-10 years of IT development/programming/coding professional work experience
Excellent coverage of Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
Proficiency programming in more than one object-oriented programming language, preferrable Java or C
Technical Stack: NGINX, Puma, Rbenv, Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Redis Cache
Interest in understanding and managing the entire project tech ecosystem: Java, Ract.JS, Kubernetes
Database knowledge.
High critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategy
Ability to handle both new features development and maintenance
Telecom industry knowledge (e.g. architectures, protocols, applications, etc.)
Experience with Agile and Waterfall development
Familiarity with modular frameworks
