XOX Com Sdn Bhd, an up and coming mobile services provider, is pioneering mobile convergence in Asia. Leveraging on next generation convergence platform, XOX’s services and value added services extend to mobile services on the web and vice versa. Incorporating mobile payment capabilities, XOX expands the mobile boundaries in service provisioning and m-commerce in Asia.
Business challenge
By implementing a convergent billing platform XOX wants to become the first telecommunication provider in the region offering next generation mobile services with convergent payment methods. XOX wants to offer its subscribers a unified mobile and web experience by providing multiple channels of accessibility to their mobile and web services. To reach the local Chinese community, XOX wants to offer a full suite of prepaid, 3G and GPRS value added services, all packaged and marketed under the XOX brand. Services will vary from typical Chinese content, such as Feng Shui, mobile games and numerology to specialized language services. By offering competitive rates XOX aims to reach a subscriber base of 1,000,000 subscribers within three-year time.
R Systems contribution and solution
R Systems was selected for the implementation of a fully convergent solution which would allow XOX to bundle, price, rate and charge both in-house and third-party services –brand them –and automatically start producing high-volume service transactions.
In close collaboration with Highdealand Teligent Telecom, R Systems worked out a sophisticated and tailored telecom solution on the foundation of the Teligent Telecom Service Delivery Platform, the Highdeal Transactive® full-suite deployed for the management of prepaid, postpaid and hybrid user accounts according to a real-time pricing and rating mechanism, and the R Systems convergent charging system.
XOX’ new state of the art platform can be configured to support a wide range of telecom services such as: collect call, ring back tone, voice mail, missed call alert, prepaid calling cards, IN number translation, access screening, mobile VPN, televoting, SMSC, SMS router, and more.
The convergent single platform solution offers XOX a range of strategic benefits across various fields and perspectives.
Marketing managers and staff can now efficiently create convergent offers, sell from a single product catalog, offer bundled products of cross services, and rate subscribers according to advanced loyalty and bonus schemes. All this is enabled by an intuitive GUI making it easy also for people with no technical background to quickly create advanced commercial packages and to test the profitability of new services already before launching a product.
